Root canal treatment
Indication: When pulp cavity is exposed >1mm with infection and pain or when the pulp is necrosed and irreversibly destroyed with infection.
Procedure:
- Asses pulp cavity by ,making hole or opening
- Extrication of dead pulp
- Cleaning repeatedly
- Working length estimation(radiological)
- Obturation (filling of root canal or pulp cavity) final step in RCT
- Initially temporary is filling done
- If no pain after few weeks permanent filling is done
- Crowning
- While cleaning, steroid ( septadont dexamethose acetate), antiseptic, anti-inflammatory analgesic used
- Temporary filling: caviton (white past) becomes hard later, zinc oxide base + other chemicals
